187 Pro knees were manufactured
for vert skateboarding &
specifically pools and are endorsed by Tony Hawk even though 187 doesn't pay him to do it.
They feature orthopedic super thick padding. Pro-core
impact absorption, dual density interior memory foam, seamless hinge
for maximum flexibility and comfort, neoprene butterfly closure, ultra high-strength ballistic
nylon, durable double-stitching and super thick caps, totally replaceable. The cap "pour point" is also
on the side (instead of on the top, where there is already a lot of stress) for these, so they are
much harder to crack, and easier to replace if they do. But we haven't
replaced any yet. And the seams on these are turned in, so they don't leave irritating marks on your legs. Highly recommended.

RECAPS FOR 187 PRO KNEES
We don't get many requests for them - they don't break! But we do get requests for white caps from teams that have
crazy rink owners. Re-Caps fit all sizes & come with new velcro.
ABOUT THE VERT CAPS
Not recommended for most derby tracks. Especially not recommended for painted or urethane coated floors - or any nice surface. These caps have a rough finish and are
made for big vert skaters in cement skateparks. They could tear up a derby track on a nice floor.
But if you practice in a park, on concrete or asphalt, these will be awesome.
Which one should I order?
If you order the $18 recaps, you get a package with a pair of recaps. If you order the recaps AND pads, you end up with two pairs of caps.
You can only order the $12 upgrade WITH a 187 pad order. We swap out the stock black caps for the caps you choose and we keep the black ones.
Old velcro can be re-anchored with superglue. Recaps come with new velcro. |

TSG "Force III" kneepads

TSG Force III kneepads are made for aggressive vert and pipe skaters.
They are sized very large in comparison to the other pads - Alma Bichess wears
a size medium (she wore XL in Fat Boys and Pro-tec). Made of top quality reinforced Cordura,
double-layer
memory foam smooth under cap (no donut like the Fat Boys. Girls with former kneecap/sliding
injuries seem to prefer the flatter memory foam of TSG). Super soft Lycra/neoprene
adjustable Velcro straps for a non-slip, snug fit with easy closing (not pull-on). Neoprene back straps for added comfort.
Easily replaceable
velcro fastened recaps.

Rector "FAT BOY" Knee Pads

Rector Fat Boy Pads were manufactured for vert skateboarding &
specifically pools. They feature orthopedic super thick padding, including a donut ring of padding
2" thick between your kneecap and the cap of the pads. Sturdier than Pro-tec, with wrap-around
neoprene butterfly back flaps & heavy-duty double-stitched elastic/velcro straps to tighten.
These fit over your legs, rather than pulling on over your foot.

REALLY REALLY EXTREMELY SMALL. These look like the 187 "Fly" series to us, though the manufacturer tells us they are made with the Pro quality and materials.
The caps are riveted on. These are really small! Not kidding! So if you're a regular sized woman, they are not going to fit you.
